EDL - Postcard challenge

Discover where our entrepid Batxillerat students have been to on this retro travel assingment (when was the last time you sent a postcard?). Half the class were told to have a good time while the others were asked to come up with tales of woe and strife. Sometimes life just isn't that fair.

The other side of Skyping

Video calling or skyping is a great way to put your foreign languages to good use.

Here are some photos of a skype session  some of our 4th ESO students did with a Polish school. This is how it looks like at our end.

So what is this skyping business all about. Nothing to it!

You just sit in front of a computer and talk using headphones and a microphone. And don't forget to use those really usefull questions:

Can you say that again?.........   How do you spell that?
So while we are busy at the Montilivi end of things what is happening at the other end?  Poland..... can you hear us?

Here are some photos which can answer the question. These are the students  we  were talking to.

I wonder who they are talking to now?

Digital Travel

We travelled 1600 kilometres and never left Girona.  Digitally of course!  First of Batxillerat have been doing a blogging project with two other schools. One in Krakow, Poland and the other in Boras, Sweden. The blogs were created to exchange information on the students interests and cultures. The students wrote the entries and then made comments about the entries on the other schools' blogs.

As a surpise finale to the project we were able to speak to the Polish school via a group Skype call.  Here we are talking to the students from Poland. Judit, Miquel, Ainoa and Eloi can be seen in the pictures below.

OUR TRIP TO BARCELONA

On the 7th of May, the students of 4th of ESO went on a trip to Barcelona. We were all very excited to go to that city and we knew that it would be an amazing trip.

The bus left us near the Rambla and we split up in to groups to carry out our task, which was to interview some tourists that spoke English.
We spent all morning talking with people and asking them questions like where they were from, what they had visited so far, why were they in Barcelona or if they had tried any typical Catalan dishes.

Almost all of them were very friendly and they answered our questions with kindness, but others didn’t want to speak to us, so we were a bit upset.
Despite this little fact, we had a very good time in Barcelona while we were improving our English!
